.OGM file to svcd?

Hi Can a .OGM file be converted to svcd using Dvd2svcd? Should i open it as an .avi file? Thanks!

In order to open the file in DSVD2SVCD u have to change the file extention to .avi. DVD2SVCD can only open .IFO and .AVI files (as far as I know). So u could try that and see if it work. I'm doubtfull however. What does the file extention .OGM stand for? Nothing comes to my mind. :confused:

Ogg is only an audio format, not a video format, and why would you have an entire movie's sound in an only audio format? It's not gonna work with Ogg, and I doubt it will ever be supported, the file format isn't exactly popular.

It certainly is interesting, but I wouldn't investigate it too much, as Ogg doesn't really have such a great future IMO...

ogg (ogm) is a great container format its seek times in video are faster than the avi container. i recommend it even if you arent using vorbis audio (if, perhaps, you have ac3 audio)... especially if you are making a mode 2 (800mb) cd using it gives you greater ability to read a scratched cd

I wondered the same thing for a long time (stashing a few OGM files away on my HD) until I came across Dr. Mercury's explanation using graphedit. I see that Kb_cruncher mentioned this in a previous message, so for a 'detailed graphic' illustration of this process, go to Dr. Mercury's website @ look under 'Converting' and then 'Other formats'. et voila! :p P.S. I DID have to insert a PCM conversion filter when extracting from a PAL-encoded OGM because the WAV file wouldn't load properly (it wasn't a true PCM decode for some reason), but I didn't need it for another film encoded in NTSC format. OK here you have a way to convert your ogm videos: extract the video stream and the audio ogg files with the virtualdubmod. Then download this program this is to convert the ogg file to wav... i havent found any program to convert ogg to mp2 directly :confused: Now you have the video in an avi file and the audio in a wav file... i hope you know how to finish the work. jrumol that is almost exactly the way I did it, but I was never able to get oggdropXPd converted files to work with DVD2SVCD correctly. I ended up using the OGG plugin in Winamp to convert the audio after splitting the video and audio with Vdub. It was a good deal of work and I try to avoid doing things like this now if I can. Mark
