Hi all- I'm very new to this and I would really appreciate any advice on the following issues if possible. First my set-up; Packard Bell Easynote TJ65 laptop; 4 GB mem, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Dual Core T4300, 2.1GHZ. Tascam US-122 USB interface Akai mpc 1000 Guitar and Mic Reaper 3.31 64 bit First problem- I record guitar on track one. I then attempt to record drums from the akai on track two. When I listen back the drums are really off time. The same thing happens if i record drums on track one first and then try and record guitar on track two- the guitar is really off time. Basically everything is off time. I fear my new laptop or interface may be the problem but is there something simple I might be missing? Second problem- in my previous version of Reaper on my old IBM laptop I had stacks more plug ins available- these were standard issue with Reaper but they are no longer visible on my new set up. A related problem is I've tried to install Synth 1 VST- ive loaded it exactly the same way i did on my old set up which worked fine but it is not viewable under plugins/instruments in Reaper in my new set up. Any help most appreciated. Cheers

I think what your problem is for the timing deal, is you have to go into File - Project Settings - Then click the Project Settings Tab....and you have to change that number at the top...to the BPM of your drum loops..or whatever.....hope that makes sense.

i understand your question differentely, so if you're not already on the right track it seems like it could be coming from a number of things... have you perhaps moved the play rate slider on the transport by mistake? have you selected the ASIO driver from your audio card in reaper's preferences? maybe your souncard isn't reporting the latency accurately? in which case you'd have to run some tests and modify that in the preferences. as for your plugins, make sure reaper is pointing to the right folders in the VST section of the preferences. you might run into a few issues with 32 bits plugins under reaper 64 but that's me guessing, i still only use reaper 32 under windows 64... good luck

tart with the Basics. Are you using ASIO sound card drivers? If so set the sound card options to a maximum for now of 24 bit 44.1k/Preferences/Audio/Device and the same in File/Project settings/Audio.

Many thanks for the input- appreciated. Sheppola- you were right, adjusting to ASIO drivers has fixed the 1st problem which was the major one. Still no sign of Synth1 though. Cheers
