Reaper wont go??

i am just starting with reaper and a lexicon u42s interface on thinkpad t61. have recorded a few things for testing, and to create a couple of templates. had a few issues and questions, but mostly okay til now - for some reason now, reaper will not go - it loads the project and looks normal, but when you hit play or record, nothing happens - the timeline thingie does not move. you can move it around with the mouse or markers, but it will not play. i uninstalled v3.04 and installed v 3.05 just now and it still has the same problem - what could this be? thanks.

Well, definately check to make sure you have the correct sound card config setup. I know sometimes it does this "freeze" thing if the wrong card insn't selected. Sry, that's all the help I can give. Maybe try it in direct mode, asio duplex mode etc. Are you running Asio4all ? ~Rob.

Recheck your device settings (Options/Preferences/Audio/Device). This (or something similar) happened on my sister's system and somehow the device got set to the wrong driver.

duh - okay, i had moved the laptop into my bedroom to work on some other stuff, and the laptop was no longer connected to the interface - that is the reason it would not play. i had to set the audio device in prefrences back to direct sound to use the internal sound card instead of the external interface, and now operates normally. hey, i am a newbie to DAW, sowwy...thanks for the help guys.
