Thinking about getting a new sound card due to some recent problems with my M-Audio Delta 1010 Pci card. I'm wondering what are the best cards to use with reaper. Is there a certain card which the folks at cockos use or prefer and are known to work flawless, good drivers etc? What model and brand sound card are you using with reaper? Are you happy with your card? Thanks in advance

I have an EMU1820M that I love dearly. If/when it dies, once I get over the mourning, I am planning to save some bones until I can afford an RME. Probably a Fireface 800... D
I wonder if Charlie Steinberg switched out all his RME gear? ;) Not to mention that 'Steinberg' interfaces were rebranded RME before Yamaha assumed ownership
If you are on a budget and you want decent free software/gear thrown in check out the Line6 gear.Their in-built sound units are of decent quality. Their drivers have always been stable for me in Reaper. HTH :)

Thank you for all the suggestions so far. LCipher - If you don't mind, What are all your reaper settings for the system using the 1010LT? Are you using m-audio delta ASIO or ASIO4All V2 driver? Have you checked any of the options like Pre-Zero output buffers or ignore asio reset messages? I'd like to keep my current 1010lt but with recent audio problems I wondering if my card went bad and was looking into maybe the RME cards or something in the $300-500 range. I've never had any problems with the Delta1010 before recently when I was trying to record audio from a microphone. I would get a loud buzzing sound. I checked all the connections and everything is fine. It appears the buzzing is being produced from the sound card or drivers. In order to get rid of the buzzing I open the reaper audio device settings, the click on OK to exit back out, As soon as I do that the buzz goes away for about 5-10 seconds then returns. I've checked that I don't have any loop problems and went through each cable and replaced one at a time to make sure It's not a cable problem. Done the same recordings before without any issues. Either its a reaper problem or my card crapped out :(
