how do I play MIDI multi-timbrally?

hi,after getting frustrated with all the popular DAW software, I came across Reaper. I am trying out the software for a few weeks to see how easy or hard is it to learn to use all it's features (or almost all). I've got stuck already. I import a MIDI file and insert a simple multi-timbral instrument like Edirol TTS-1. Where do I set the outputs to cause the TTS-1 to play the file multy-timbrally? I have searched for hours and tried everything I could try in the 'io' menu,but nothing happened. I could find nothing about it in the manual either......aaaargh

In the FX chain dialog, Right click TTS1, there is an option to build 16 channels. Each track will send a channel to the Track with the TTS1. So if you have Items in each new midi track it will fire the expected channel in TTS1 On the recording side, you will have to RecArm, set input monitoring to On, and set the midi input for the channel, on each of the created tracks.
