Can I do this? I want to record vocals with some compression but can't figure out how to do that. I don't have an outboard comp and that is basically what I am trying to achieve. I am wanting to eliminatespikes and such. Or does it matter? is recording my vocals dry, with spikes, OK and then compress/limit? Maybe I just need to practice with my voice a bit more? I wish I could have another monitor in my vocal booth so I could see the meters!

When you hit the input button, select "record output" then put your comp or any effects in, as usual. Then when you play back, just turn effects off. Or create input busses for yourself. This is what I do when tracking guitars to save cpu. BTW, pick up some nice compressor impulses and use those as well gives ya a nice sound. Good Luck Rob

OK. So this will give me a track with the comp being a part of the finished product, right? Thats what I want. I will try that. Thanks Junior! I'm not quite familiar with "pulse" thing. I can do that with the comp as well as reverb? How do I do that?

Wow. So if I understand correctly it is along the same lines of amp modeling? Cool stuff! Is Voxengo stuff pretty good? They had a few things I found interesting. To bad its not free! Wheres all the opensource stuff? LOL. Thanks for the tips though. Downloaded Sir so we'll see how that works. if I can figure out how to install and use it.
