how to encode ac-3 for my standalone

I encode with dvd2svcd use 5.1 sound and imaging with vcx-build. In dvd2svcd log I see the file is encoded to ac3 but not on my stand alone (thomson- plays very well svcd's). Is it the muxing (bbmpeg) or the imaging that's wrong?

Also watch the language. This is a family friendly forum. SVCD's do not have ac3 audio. They use mpeg audio. Mark
