Hi :) Large projects don't play correctly the first time I play them but after that, they play fine... I suppose it's because the tracks get loaded in the RAM as the song plays...(?) Is there a pre-load function somewhere that would allow the project to be buffered prior to the first playback ? I've looked but haven't seen anything of the kind anywhere... It is a bit lame to have to play the song with speakers off once first or to mute half the tracks... (first playback only) Thx :)

whole tracks dont get loaded into ram. most daws work the same . useing look ahead techniques at the software engineering level, track time slices are loaded into arrays of ram n pumped out to the sound card. mebe give some details on your system ?? if not already done so... run a test useing a dedicated 7200 rpm drive with 32 mb cache , and report back. how much cache do you have in your current hard drive ??
zeew. well its difficult to comment further without knowing details of your system. all that ram is just one aspect mate. a system is only as strong as its weakest link etc etc. ive seen people with lots of ram use clunky hard drives. and thus get problems. what hard drives are you useing ?? processor ?? something is certainly amiss somewhere. how many tracks when this becomes a problem ?? bit depth ?? sampling rate ??
Hi guys. This is a bump... Given that noone had a ''do it like that'' solution for me, I believe this thread should be moved to the feature requests. Thx :)
