ok can someone explain to me in the most basic way possible and step by step how to 'bounce down' a piano part in Reason which is currently onliy a MIDI item to an audio item? i have tried "applying fx to track" and that doesnt work i have tried "render item as new take" and that just seems to duplicate it but its still in MIDI format i have tried "normalising" it and it says that it cant do it cause it has no peak information??? am i doing something wrong?

You just can Normalize an AUDIO item. How did you set up your routing in REAPER? Where's the piano's output (sound)?

Try this, right click on the MIDI piano track and choose "Render selected tracks to stem tracks (and mute original)". This should process the MIDI to an audio track, insert it next to the MIDI and mute the MIDI track. There is the option to do either Mono or Stereo.

Try to set the track on which you're hearing the the piano to 'Record: output stereo'. This will record anything that's playing on that track as an audio file. Seems like several ways lead to Rome...
