I had a go this morning at removing the grey trim that surrounds the instruments on my S60. This was to allow me to remove the speedo revcounter unit to allow me to fit my dash rings. I tried pulling it up wards and levering it gently with a knife. Had zero success. Would appreciate any help or advice. Many thanks.

Gently is where you are going wrong, it needs a sharp tug and it will pull out of its clips .... pull straight out towards the steering wheel not up ...

you will have to post a picture when completed :-) how about illuminating them from some white LED's fitted in the frame you are having difficulty with ?? as per R and current models

I think he means he needs to tug sharply to get it out the dash in the car, not to undo the back to put in the rings. To remove it from the car = Tug hard To remove back once out of car = remove slowly Have you seen this? One other tip JimC. Can you remember having a conversation about these rings last month with Pukka88 and me? Well he said you don't need to use superglue with these rings, but you do. I had no idea what he meant once I took the cluster apart andf couldn't find any other way of attaching them. They just wouldn't fit. Once I used a small amount of superglue per ring it was easy peasy

Just be careful not to get any onto the surrounding areas.

Well I have just finished fitting them and it went great no problems. Did not need any glue just gently folded the edges over. Looks great and delighted with the result. Many thanks for all the advice.
