Just thought it would be most useful to have a list of currently assigned parameters including: where they are, on what track, which fx and to what midi controller etc. so that users can refer to it on loading/using a project. those using a control surface can check to see that for example: knob1 was assigned to fx param X Y and Z on track x (when window focused) and knob2 is assigned with soft takeover to fx param X (when track selected) etc. its going to get confusing quite quickly now that we can assign one controller to many parameters on different tracks and with different options, so this would give a one stop shop to know the assignments you have made on a given project. to make this more user friendly an Alias feature would be good so instead of having something like: midi channel 1 cc50 => on focus - track 5 - vst reaEQ(cockos) - Param - band 3 gain we have: my controller1 => on focus - guitar1 - EQ - param - mids quick mockup: If configurable to show/hide the amount of info required, resizable window etc, this could be v. useful, i also think all the info is lurking in reaper somewhere so just a case of presenting it to the user nicely. something like this is necessary as has happened a few times recently where i have forgotten which knob i assigned to more than one fx and spent ages finding it, thats after i remembered assigning it, and to what..! something in addition to that would be a small yet noticable visual clue on an fx window that tells you that that fx has assignments and/or which ones, and when active. e.g 2 tracks with the same fx on could have different assignments with the same midi controller and dumb user here can confuse which one has which assignment when they are on screen. therefore not knowing what assignment applies.. hitting Param button and sifting through to see whats got a tick next to it doesn't really cut it in the convenience stakes! thoughts/flames/apathy welcome:
