this has been discussed to great extent in this and the PC forum. I suggest you do some searches, but here's my take: PC-Far cheaper, more power, but potentially more difficult to troubleshoot Mac-Expensive, lagging in terms of power, but easier to maintain and there are more plugins available for the mac

Hey TRK, we had a Pentium III 600mhz, and switched to a G4/400. With the Mac you have a variety of plug-ins to choose from, but we can't get as many plug-ins per session like the PC did. The Mac is way more reliable (does'nt crash frequently like the PC did) and it was easy to figure out the Macintosh ways .It cost more, but we aint going back to a PC! !

My G4 is some of the best money Ive ever spent. I LOVE my Mac!! I used PC for a few years - learned most of what I know about computers on the PC. I dont regret having one. But Mac's greet you with a smile and actually seem to have a personality. Ask any Mac owner. Most will agree. Did the other guy say "easier to troubleshoot"? You aint kidding

I'm a pc user, I just read the mac boards because you can never learn enough. I guess I should say SOMETHING in defense of the pcs, (not trying to start a big fight) Anyway, It seems as though pcs will give more plugins, althought not all are available. I'm actually kinda curious what else is out there thats not on pc? (I know mic modeler isn't but what else?) As for as stability, a lot of pc users experience problems, at least in initial setup. A lot of it depends on what motherboard you choose. Mine went up without a hitch and it's running wonderfully. It hasn't crashed yet. You might check out a DAW builder...You'll save a lot of $$$, get amazing performance (digi just approved AMD cpu's) and you don't have to deal with instability. Drastik Solutions (a guy on the duc that builds systems) has great prices. If you want to check it out I think his site is Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose!
