Second Pass/DVD "lines"

Hi- I answered the first question at the other place you posted by pointing you to the guides. As for the second question, those are interlacing lines, and will be taken care of by either Force Filming in DVD2AVI or IVTC later on. I believe the Guides also discuss the issue (but I'm assuming this is an NTSC DVD-PAL material will be handled differently). thank you and sorry ^_^ But i did not see anything i was doing wrong in the tutorial (which i failed to mention, i used to learn how to do it (VERY GOOD BTW ^_^)in the first place) Also there was nothing about it in the troubleshooting. As i said before i HAVE SUCCESFULLY done a few 2 pass videos and they worked fine, but this one seems not to want to. It is a US dvd, which i think is NTSC... correct me if i'm wrong (/me is still a lil new :P) so if that helps... Well anyway, thanx for the help with the "lines", testing it now ^_^.

Hi- Persistent, eh? IVTC should take care of it. Have you tried? What's the source, DVD? And what is it? I assume it's some kind of anime. They can almost all be IVTC'd. Are you using GKnot? Have you tried to make the .d2v with no Force Film, and then applying IVTC when setting up the .avs? Show me the .avs (and cut out all lines beginning with "#"). Maybe read and memorize .

Hi- IVTC=Inverse Telecine, the reversing of the telecine process. That is, you're returning the 29.97fps DVD to the material's original 23.976fps (well..originally it was 24fps). If the material was originally created at 24fps, but for one reason or another Force Film in DVD2AVI doesn't work, then it must be IVTC'd. It's all explained in the link. If you're still using the VFAPI method (and you drive a Model T car also?), then there are links at the bottom to Doom9's guides about using TMPEGEnc to perform the IVTC.

Yay reading T_T, well as long as that fixes it so i CAN do the second pass, since everything else NORMALLY works great, small files/good qual.

Hi- Are you still having trouble running the second pass? I might recommend that you switch to using Gordian Knot and AviSynth. It'll mean more reading of guides, but one benefit will be faster encoding times. And GKnot automates the procedure, so there are fewer ways for you to screw up.:) And your buddies at #anime-dominion can't help?

No they cant help, we're a REALLY small chan T_T starting out, and i'm the only one CLOSE to haveing decent knowlege about sbc. I can do regular, old school stuff, but making smaller sizes ain't my bag.. yet ^_^

Ok, well i got around to the tutorials and tried everything out. 1st: I changed it to IVTC using the tutorials and did everything as it told me (using auto, i dont get the manual way) and still second pass, Nandub freezes. 2nd: Is this really the problem? I understand maybe it wouldn't work, but y would it cause it to crash. 3rd: I really need help fast T_T i'll try Gordian Knot soon, but i like Nandub's SBC stuff, so if i could get some help, i know ur busy buy, something other than referals to tutorials that'd be great :) Again thanx for all the help, but i need even more ^_^ /me is still too new, but i wanna learn!! ^_^
