i would like to take a certain number of bars and have them slow down with the pitch slowing down as well to a complete stop. Is it possible in Reaper v2.53? if so please give detailed info im a brand new Reaper baby. Also it would be with audio not midi. thank you so much familiy!!!...aaron david.
Welcome to Reaper! If your project is all audio, you can automate the playrate slider: 1. Hit CTRL+ALT+M to show the master track 2. Click the env button on the master track 3. Arm the play rate envelope 4. Create some envelope points at the right place and adjust them to stop the tape. :) This works best when the project has only audio tracks since MIDI tracks and their VSTi audio output are not pitched down, only the speed change matches. You can also try this free tapestop plugin: (never tried it, YMMV)

I'm pretty sure you can do that in 2.53 as well (but the automation button on the master track will most likely be labeled "trim"). If you don't want to update to V3.06, you could at least update to the last V2 version 2.58, get it here: This version has playrate automation for sure.
