A new release is available at my web site. It gives a new Telecide() pattern guidance mode (guide=3) for 25fps to 30fps telecining, as requested by 'manono', and fixes a small bug in default parameter override of the guide parameter.
If we use this new "guide=3" parameter in Telecide, what should the accompanying Decimate paramters be? "Decimate(cycle=6)"? I assume that if we are dealing with a NTSC 30fps source that we want to reverse back to its PAL 25fps state (if such video exists) then, "cycle=6" is the way to go. Please confirm that this would be correct usage of the new guidance mode.
Thx for the reply. I'm working with such a DVD now. Early results (with the line you just posted, basically) seem somewhat satisfactory, but sometimes the movements of characters on the screen seem a bit off, i.e. there is room for improvement (in the "NTSC->PAL reversal process"). My question is, do you think any of the other Decomb options could help in this regard? Currently I'm trying: reverse=true in Telecide and mode=2 in Decimate To see if either of those can help in this process.
@neuron2 Yes, we want YV12 versions of Decomb. Right now the only thing that stops me from using AviSynth2.5alpha is the lack of a decent deinterlacer. @John DivX4/5 will also benefit heavily from YV12 colorspace. DivX3 will not unless someone can moify nandub to use YV12 data.
