Just got my V40 Phase 2 53 - very pleased with it but >>> Switched off the daytime running lights OK - followed the sequence in the book which was fine. However the dash lights are on permanently. I can live with that but because my instrument lights are on all the time I forget to switch my headlights on as the road conditions start to deteriorate and require them !! I've only had it 3 weeks and have forgotten 4 times already! Anyone got a quick fix or do I have to start to be extra vigilent!! At this rate I'll be pulled over soon - or cursed at! Your thoughts would be interesting - polite only !!!! :animal-smiley-037: Chug
hehe! I had the same thing, I was driving the wife's car, and set off from a petrol station (only reason why I was driving it was to fill it up!! grrr) and a policeman stopped me after about 100 yards. He asked why I thought he pulled me over like they always do, naturally I thought he wanted to go out for a drink - I said I didn't. He said I didn't have my lights on. I hadn't realised as the forecourt was in a built up area with loads of lights about, so after some cursing for my own stupidity and explaining that I usually drove the Volvo, he said that he had seen many, many Volvo drivers doing the same thing! He then advised not to drive the Yaris again - I couldn't agree with him more! What was he in...yes a Volvo! vipes
i switched my drl's off after owning my s40 for a couple of weeks.. i too used to forget to turn my lights on and off.. so i just put the drl's back on.. its a livesaver especially in the winter..
Thanks all, After all the sensible advice above it looks like the DRLs will most def be going back on again; it was just that looking at the dealer service record I got with the car it had been munching through front light bulbs at an alarming rate ! chug
Even worse is in my (the wifes) phase 2 the lights are automatically turned on so even if you foregt to turn on the lights theres no worries. Great when your in the volvo but when I drive my car I always forget the lights, d'oh.
