Hi, when I try to convert a .aup file using VFAPI to .avi it won't make a .avi. I load the .aup file in the VFAPI and check the stuff I want then hit convert and it looks like it used to do when it worked but it doesn't make a file anywhere on my HD. I am running Win98SE. Can anyone please explain what is wrong and what needs to be done? Also if this isn't in the right subject will someone please move it? Thanks a lot! Nealhon

I thought that the converter (vfapi) only converted tmpgenc or dvd2avi files so that nandub or something else could be served to >? maybe I'm wrong.

I am having the same problem... did you find a solution? I've had this problem before. It also results in avi's not being appended correctly (with multiples in order) in aviutl. I can open the d2v file in aviutl if I select 'register vfapi codec' and encode just fine, but if I try vfapiconv nothing at all happens. I don't remember what I did last time (about a year ago) to fix this problem. I've tried resetting my avi settings, then installing my codecs (3.11 and 5) and running the vfapi setup program and everything and no luck. Did you find a way to fix it?

Obtain and run proxyoff.reg which can be obtained from doom9 I believe in one of the nandub or virtualdub software packs. I have about 10 copies of it in various encoding folders, just not with vfapiconv! Run this then rerun your setup program and you hopefully will be fine.

I have noticed very similar issue when I was converting .d2v project to pseudo-avi without success. I was using Vfapi v1.82 under Win XP Pro, v1.76 works fine.

Hi, I've also had this problem, but it's a little bit different over here: - I run proxyoff.reg - After that i run the vfapi setup and start it after registering it.. - I open a .aup file and convert it. This works! BUT as soon as I close VFAPI or just reboot, the next time VFAPI keeps giving me errors, not being able to convert ccorrectly! How come? :( This is how it looks like: I've done format two times in a row to make sure if it wasn't something that went wrong in the install of the OS< but with no result :( My specs: PIII 1GhZ 256 MB SDRam OS: Windows XP I'm using VFAPI 1.05 Please help :( BTW: I do click "Register VAPI Plug-In" in AviUtil, but when I return to that menu to check out if it's set on, I don't see any change  Isn't it supposed to be "vinked"? <--- Dunno if this is a good English word :p...
