Unity DS-1 and Digi-001 Midi ports?

Greeting all, I'm having a hell of a time with my Unity DS-1. I've read (from Bitheadz website) that there is a problem with the Digi-001 midi ports and with the Unity DS-1. They had stated that you should have a separate midi port (for me it would have to be USB). Is this true? I would greatly appreciate any response as I am feeling absolutely no "Unity" with my Unity DS-1. Todd nxbigthing

Hey, Todd Apparently the Digi 001 uses direct i/o for both MIDI and audio i/0. This poses a problem when using third party software on the 001. According to digidesign you need a separate MIDI interface to use third party software. Digi reccomends a serial interface, but says that USB interfaces have performed well in tests. Good luck. Pete

Thanks Pete, Ironically, I got everything to work fine using the digi-001 midi ports with the Unity DS-1. I'm not really sure how I did it, but don't look a gift horse... Todd
