I am using Reaper 2.55 BETA: OS X Universal, Mac OS 10.5.5 on my Mac Pro 8 core, 3.2GHz, 32 Gigs of Memory, NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 video card, MOTU 828mkII audio interface, and MAUDIO Radium 49 controller keyboard. When I insert a new Audio Unit virtual instrument on new track I make sure that the red record ready button is clicked only on its track while I play the rest of the traks back. I am not able to hear anything from any of my AU instruments by clicking the keys on the piano roll for the new midi object or from my. I have the latest drivers installed from MOTU and MAUDIO. What do you suggest?

First make sure you've enabled input for your midi controller: Options > Prefs > Audio > MIDI Devices > Set your device's mode properly Then click on your input selection (the meter) in the Track Control Panel. You should see MIDI Input as an option and in that list your device should now be visible. Select your device for all midi inputs and it should be good to go.

I figured out the solution. I need to be sure Record Montitorig is set to ON in the Track Control Panel. I have made sure that I enabled input for my midi controller: Options > Prefs > Audio > MIDI Devices > Midi inputs to make available is set to my device properly, my MIDI Port Device, and Enabled mode Then, I clicked on my input selection (the meter) in the Track Control Panel. I see MIDI Input as an option and my device is visible. I have tried selecting my device for MIDI Port, Virtual MIDI Keyboard, and All Midi Inputs > All Channels, to no success. The little red square showing MIDI Input received lights up when I press my MAUDIO Radium 49 on the Track Control Panel. This procedure is working now. Thank you for your help BaronStinky.
