RE: Track Lane Images, etc....

A quick question for those of you using the alphas.... I think some of the ideas coming out are pretty great...like customizable tool bars, for one. I'm not big on the instrument icons on the TCP or MCP, but I imagine one can just choose to not use them and that's fine for all parties involved. However, I would imagine with actual track lanes supporting pictures, many themers will be using that feature to great extent. My question is....can that be shut off? Sort of like customizing a theme...like maybe a "use background pics" checkbox or something? If not, can we get that? I mean, I think it's a cool idea....I can just see it getting sort of messy if not kept in check on a busy project and "off" is a great way of doing just that. I know...I really should D/L and check it out myself. :) [dt]

I'm not clear what you mean with Track Lane Images. Speaking of the track icons ot tcp/mcp, this is not a theming thing. Themers cannot assign icons to your tracks. If you don't do it yourself or use a downloaded track template with icons assigned, you need not worry. Also, you can always highlight all tracks and rightclick->'remove track icon'. That said, an action: 'show/hide all track icons' might be useful indeed.

You know, I probably shouldn't have used the word "lane" since that word is very specific in REAPER vocab. I was actually speaking of the ability to use images as track backgrounds....or more, the ability to turn them off in a given theme. Hopefully that makes more sense! ;) Good news about the icons, too...I'd hoped (and guessed) something like that would be the situation. [dt]
