Hi all, I'm just getting in to Reaper. I've been using Cubase for years, but I'm finding reaper to be more and more satisfying. Still, I'm having a little trouble working with the effects while mixing. Mostly because I'm used to virtual knobs and switches, I guess. It'd probably help if I had a little more technical knowledge as well. Usually I just fiddle around with things until I get it sounding right. Anyhow, I'll get busy reading the manual, but if any of you guys have an suggestions that will make the transition a little easier I'm all ears. I absolutely love the fact that I can run this software from a flash drive and the audio quality is excellent. I love Cubase, but it seems so bloated compared to Reaper, so far. I'm basically trying to learn how to do all of the things I usually do in Cubase: Mixing, working with midi (Programming beats, editing, etc), automation, fade ins/outs, editing/working with samples, Recording, you know, all the basic stuff. I'm used to mousing around a lot in Cubase. It appears I'm going to have to break down and get used to keystrokes with Reaper. Not a bad thing, I think. Happy to be here.
