Convert DTS

Can I convert an audio DTS (WAV) in dolby digital? Thanks.

Actually YES! You must purchase a $2000 DTS encoding program. You can then open the DTS file and save each track as a WAV file and then convert to AC3 or whatever. I think the answer should have been YES, but with considerable expense. -Moon1234

I don't know if there's a encoding program doing that. The only professional DTS encoder program I know is surcode dvd pro, but it produces a padded .dts files from 6 .wav files. Dunno any other program doing the contrary, from a given .dts six descreet audio streams :confused:

We're talking about coversion, I guess digital conversion, not analog recordings. @ moon1234 I'm wondering what's the name of this encoder software dts -> wav. I now there's a project on sourceforge.net but it's too early to talk about it.

It should be possible using the graphedit method to use the intervideo filter to downmix from a dts file to a wave file, but you'll need the dts source filter. There's a great big thread in the dev. forums on that topic.

AC3 isn't digital?

To decode DTS to 6 PCM use Hypercube transcoder or for more fun there is a new utility called azidts that is based on BeSweet. You will then need to add a wav header to the PCM files. Next you will encode to AC3 with BeSweet or ACID or whatever. All Digital conversion and yes it uses the Intervideo filters. AC3 is all digital. It is the old term for Dolby Digital. -Moon1234

yes we can do whatever we like now!!! So next step is extraction and conversion from SACD and DVDAUDIO :-)

What about DTSSource->IVIAudiodec->WavDest->FileWriter ?
