Thank you for the answer. I got ac3-sound files from a music video dvd. I want to keep the audio (ac3 2.0) without recompressing. There does not seem to be a player that plays ac3-audio. Or is there a player? Does that mean, I have to transcode the audio in order to play it? Apparently.

A software DVD player such as PowerDVD or WinDVD should playback the AC3 file.
