My 1996 S40 does not have a flick wipe facility and I would like to fit one via a seperate switch from the steering column lever. I have pawed over the Haynes diagram to see which wires to splice to, to activate the wiper relay but for once the Haynes wiring diagram has beaten me! Any one help please?

This is the one thing that I miss. They should have installed a stalk with the flick down motion. Very peeved that I have to manually return the stalk :(

When I work out a solution I will post it up here. I want to wire a flick wipe to the red buttons on the steering wheel.

Baffler if you look at the photo section you will see a lot more of what has happened to it. I will be at Castle Combe performance car action day on the 19th of April. If you are in the vicinity do come and say hello.

Hi, forgive me if i'm wrong but does this model not have flick wipe when you pull the stalk towards you. Similar to how the main beam flasher works? Just a thought.

I just flicked the wiper stalk but didnt push it hard enough to latch, its much easier than fitting another switch.

The flick wipe on my '99 V40 works upwards not down. I had the car a few weeks before i worked it out ( should have read the book ) It still feels odd to use, its the only car I've ever driven that has it upside down.
