Hi, I have a client that wants to add 2 HDMI monitors to a new (yet to be received) M1 Imac. Does anyone know if this will work with DisplayLink software. We are open to whatever dock is required High resolution is NOT needed and the user just needs to display text and an occasional video.
That's the setup I currently am using: an M1 MacBook Air with 2 external monitors. I route from my MacBook to a CableMatters hub (mostly to supply power to the MacBook Air), then I have a StarTech USB to dual-DisplayPort DisplayLink adapter that feeds to 2 4k monitors. Something to note is that with the update to MacOS 11.3, the monitors only scale up to 1080p versus 4k.
I'm currently running dual 4k via Plugable USB-C 4K Triple Display Docking Station. Setup is MacBook Pro M1 -> USB-C cable to dock station -> Display Port to both of displays.
Hi! My old laptop died and IT gave me a shiny new... M1. Sigh. I'm running: Big Sur 11.2.3 DisplayLink 1.3 Generic J5 Create Driver for USB 3 to HDMI adaptor DisplayPort 1.2 adaptor I have a Caldigit Ts3 Plus I have HDMI, I have DisplayPort, I have HDMI to USB 3.0. Going straight Laptop to CalDigit to DisplayLink (with nothing else plugged-in) never generated video on my screen. Going straight laptop to CalDigit to USB 3.0 only mirrored my laptop DisplayLink has never detected a monitor.:mad:
Caldigit does not have display link chipsets and will not support more then 1 monitor on an M1 mac.
