Shrek (R2) using DVD2SVCD with CCE, problems..

Hi. Im trying to backup my Shrek (Region 2 DK) using DVD2SVCD v.1.1.0 b1a (latest) and CCE encoder. But when CCE encodes the video (mpv) and reach 24% it hangs (but im able to cancel). I tried 2 times now and it did it both times at same place 24%. I never had any problems before with other dvd backups. Is that a known bug in the Region2 of Shrek ?? I also have the R1 of Shrek and tried to backup that one and there was no problem. Thx GDK

Hi I think this was an issue that was a horrendous nightmare in the earlier days of DVD2SVCD. If I remember correctly it was due to long periods of black screen in the source video which caused CCE to go into an eternal loop. The hang usually occurs near the end of a movie (black background on the credits). I am assuming you have set the Passes to "4" and it is hanging at the end of the 1st pass (Hence 24%) - Although I could be wrong. :confused: Anyway, the solution (or workaround I guess) (if it is the same problem) is to use the "Safe Mode" option in the "Encoder" tab in DVD2SVCD. The encoding takes a fair bit longer, but shouldn't hang. Give it a bash. Peepo.
